    Seastar hydraulic steering help

Where in the world do you check/add hydraulic steering fluid? Have a 2000 190 and have no idea where to check this. Have recently noticed slack in the steering. Thanks

Check for leaks on the ends of the cylinder. You may need to replace them first. The fill hole is on top of the helm. If it's behind the dash, check for a remote fill on top of the console.

Mine is on the starboard console on the gunnel side below the windshield. Some are above the steering wheel on the dash. If fluid is really low, you may need to bleed the system to fill. I bought a kit that worked great. I didn't know what to expect so I got 2 quarts of the recommended fluid. I barely made a dent in the first bottle. That was almost a year ago and it is working great.
