I have a 24v Ultrex on my 20XRD and I don't see a need for more. Plus fitting the batteries would be impossible without going down from group 31 to something like group 24 or something.

Depends on where you fish. I have a 24 volt motorguide that can just barely keep up with the current on Lake Barkley. I would deal with the third battery and weight.

I had a 24 volt on my 20 xd then went to 36 volt was worth the extra battery, more power , and battery charge faster. I have a 21 xdc with a 36 volt ultrex and would never go down to 24

I have a 20XDC, went with a Ghost. I originally had it set up for 36v 29 series, then went to one 24v Ionic Lithium (17lbs) and I really like it. I've fished 10+ hour tournaments in strong wind and current and so far most I have used is 49% of the battery. It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to full charge when its at 49%. I was hesitant at first, but its proven itself to me this past summer.

I just put a new ghost on my 21XD I run around 24 volts it works awesome Without the extra weight of an expense of another battery And the battery life is amazing on the brushless motors

I had a 24 on my 21 XRD. Worked good, unless the current is too strong. I just put a 36 on my 21 XRS. Works great.

I have a 24v on my 21xrd, plenty of trolling motor for me, even when I was on Lake fork last year and the waves were crashing across the Bow (30-35mph winds), I was still pulling through without to much of a problem.

Ghost on the 24v setting will drag my 20 foot Stratos over 4mph in chop and fights strong winds very well with 96 lbs of thrust

More thrust is always better. It’s there when you need it.

What is the top speed you guys are seeing with a 36v ultrex? I have a 24v and top speed is about 2.5mph or so. I have a xrs so curious what top speed is with a 36v on the 21'ers.

    21 SDC. 24volt Ultrex.
I spot lock a lot. Can fish days without recharging batteries.
24v is plenty for my use. Definitely go lithium batteries
