The lowrance ghost is quite a bit faster then a Ultrex. The garmin is even faster, its the fastest trolling motor on the market right now, My buddy is getting 3.8mph on his 21XB alli only on 24V.

Also the garmin and lowrance will use less battery power. When i switched to a lowrance i noticed about 20% more battery life sometimes more depending on how hard i was on it, but on avg 20% more

I've got a 24v 80lb Fortrex on my 20' dual console Bullet and absolutely love it. Conversely my friend has a 36v 105 or 109lb Motor Guide on his Triton and unless we are in 35mph or more winds I really don't see the need for it....and if it's that windy I can Guarantee that I'm NOT out fishing!!! lol lol Although, if you are a Die Hard tournament fisherman I think that a 36v would probably be your best option.

I have a 24v Ultrex on my 21XRD and it is not enough for what I fish. If I wasn't set to run Birds I would have a Ghost on 36v. Lithiums are a big plus
