Need set up help 21 xdc

I have a 04 21xdc with 04 250 xs. Can’t raise my motor over 1 3/4 below pad with out my water pressure dropping below 12 psi. Every thing I read on here says 3/4 or 1/2 below is the normal. It’s a gen 1 lower 1.62 Running a 26 trophy plus 5450 rpm. 78 mph anyone got any suggestions?

If I remember right, rev limiter was 5800 or so on a 2004 250XS, 78 isn't bad, but depending on load, should be able to squeeze a little bit more,

Yeah 78 isn’t bad. I just don’t understand why I can’t run my motor as high as everyone else and still have good water pressure. Is there something I need to check out on my motor?

Yeah that doesn’t sound bad I know I’m out of the box with the Yamaha SHO 250 but I am running 84.5 at 400 feet above sea level Fully loade with a 29 bravo FS @ 5800 rpm Prop not real sure what the motor height is I have a Bob’s hydraulic jack plate I’m only able to run it up to the third light on the gauge without losing water pressure. It doesn’t seem that many people talk about the elevation they’re at when I talk about speed .
