Sounds interesting. If it can do away with the jerking motion then I'm possibly a buyer.

Don't know why it wouldn't.. Its not magical, just a little cushion to help stop that hard metal on metal pop every time you stop , go or hit a bump.
I have a receiver with a built in cushion that works very well. only problem; its 15 years old and it sticks out much farther than a regular stinger.
    Guess I'll find out.

I found it by accident. I was looking for a ball mount with a 1” to zero drop. I could only find the kind that have three balls on a square mount. The Rockerball will give me what I want on the 2” drop. The shock absorbing feature is icing on the cake.

Lot of warnings and potential failure points listed in the installation manual.

Other than making sure the orientation plate is aligned properly there is only one that you you wouldn't find on the installation sheet for any ball:

    >Before every use, be sure the snap ring on the pivot pinof the trailer ball assembly is in place and properly seated.

Not sure I understand wanting to dampen the connection between you and what your towing.

My ChampioN tows smoother than the Ranger but knowing what I have learn in my life time I don't believe I would want to dampen the feel. The feedback from the trailer in important and will alert you before something catastrophic happens if you can sense it.
    But that's just how I work.Just say'in

I'm in the same (boat) My new truck is a little low with the receiver down and a little high flipped. So that extra height with this ball should be just right.

You lost me there ?? About the only dampening affect this will have is help take some of that annoying CLUNK you hear most every time you take off. That and absorb a little of the road shock from some of these shitty highways.
Just fail to see how that might hinder my ability to fore-tell something catastrophic. Not trying to sell anyone on this.. just thanking the gentleman for posting.

I have one of these and there is no bump or clank on start and stop anymore, this is on my 2015 nitro that has over 70k on the trailer. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hit...l/AMSCV-2.html careful the one in the link is 2.5" receiver and not the drop most 2.5" trucks would need. I know they make a 2" version.

seems interesting, but isn't basically a $50 wear item as where a regular ball will last quite along time

That is correct, but it also fixes my height problem.

Have you considered flipping a 2" drop? Gives a 3/4" rise I think.
