    Shiner Holiday Cheer

Its that time of year again for one of the best Shiner beers they make. If you are lucky enough to find it on tap its even better. I have yet to find a beer that goes so good with BBQ or tamales yet. I usually get a couple of cases to have on hand when we get together for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We do a regular Thanksgiving dinner but I usually smoke a brisket or two when I am smoking the turkey breasts. We do a tamale dinner at Christmas. Holiday Cheer goes great with both.

Thanks for the recommendation, Mark. I am a fan of Shiner but it’s not so readily available in these parts. I’ll be on the lookout for it today

Shiner is good beer and enjoy both the Bock & the HC brew.

Good stuff. In general, I like all the fall/ winter seasonals better than the spring/ summer shandy's. Fuller body and more flavor.

I picked up a 6 pack yesterday. Not bad and $3 cheaper than Great Lakes.

I've drank Shiner for a long time, the Bock, Blonde, and OktoberFest, but I've never had HC before. Mark, you are correct, it is a good carnivore meal brew.

Yeah, not always available this far north. I'll try the Holiday Cheer if I ever see it though. I did score on some Bock on special at a little convenience store on the way to deer camp last year but couldn't stock up cause I wouldn't be able to keep it from freezing.

I find Jack's Abbey to be a fair substitute though. I was at the liquor store this week and they had a stack of Jack's Abbey Copper (Oktoberfest) pounders in the middle of the floor with no price. They couldn't sell me any Stagg Jr so I grabbed a six-pack as a consolation prize. It rang up at $4.51 including tax and deposit included so I said to the gal, "Wait a sec, ring me up a few more of those." Normally they'd cost around $11
