So I was out in my 1880 the other day and launched in the early morning and it was fairly overcast. I noticed that the anchor/nav light switch stayed lit in the middle position (neither the anchor or nave lights were lit) . Is that normal?

Sounds like the switch on the bow may have been on.

Good tip thanks. That’s entirely possible.
It could have been wet. My bow trim switch would trim up on me this week after fishing in hurricane Zeta. I had to unplug it. Or it could be what the others had said. That has happened to me more than once.
My trim switch did the same thing on the bow. Apparently got a little water in it when I was washing it and was acting sporadically. Made some nice holes in the garage drywall l when i was trying to sort it out.
This just happened to me this morning...
We launched and I'm idling out when I noticed my nav toggle switch on. I remembered this thread, and I immediately put the boat in idle, walked to the bow of the boat, and sure enough, the nav toggle switch was inadvertently tripped.

If you get in your boat from bow stepping in from trailer or using trickster. And you step on light switch it will bend. Happened to me. Looking on taking it out.
