    Caracal Experience

About to pull the trigger on a Caracal. I currently run a Sabre but have had a 2010 PII and a 2016 Cougar. I like my Sabre a lot but the geometry of my gut, legs, hotfoot is not all that comfortable. I was fine in the other two BCBs.

It has the dual rear tanks. Will the ride be similar to the Cougar or more like the PII?

Don't know about the ride personally but i can say, I consider myself a boat guy and that caracal is the best bang for the buck out there. I have done a lot of research on the boat and talked to a few owners, everything i hear is VERY positive. Tell us what you think when you get into it.

I have a 2018 and I don't think it runs like the PII or the Cougar. I have driven all three models. The Caracal has a lot of lift and is fun to drive.

Ive had a ‘13 P2. Loved it. ‘17 cougar great boat. Now a 2020 caracal. Caracal has the most room of the three ive had. The caracal turns better than my cougar and far as across chop/ waves. I wanted a bigger boat that wasnt 21’ long. I thought the p2 was the perfect all around boat. Now i know the caracal is the one for me

I've owned 10 basscats and this has been my favorite so far. Not the fastest but 74 is good enough at my age. I would say its the driest cat I've owned maybe just my driving style but
not even a spray in a cross wind not sure if the width has anything to do with it. More storage than I need. Not a fan of the plastic under the seats always had carpet inside but that's minor thing.
Good Luck. Mine is a 2019 G2 and that motor is awesome.

As for all the boats that been listed and you have owned, you will not be taking a step back from any of them. You will not be disapointed. Just remember its not a speed demon. It takes a little longer to get up to top speed compared to other basscats but with the lift you get with the bigger front deck makes it easier to drive. And wide back end. Atleast for me. Not as much chine with the caracal. 73-74 is about it with the new fourstrokes.

You'll have more knee and leg room imo. I had a 15 sabre ftd, 16 caracal, and 17 puma. I'm now in a 21 eyra. I loved the compartments on the caracal which led me to look at the eyra. Caracal doesnt give up much. A guy posted on the fb group running 80.3 in his no poles and a worked prop... I would think 72-75 would be the norm on the newer motors. I really liked the way that boat ran with a 4 blade personally. Which... I guess I'm a 4 blade fan as my puma got a pair of fury 4's and I just put a bravo on the eyra. Only gripe I had on my caracal was it was the trickiest to load on the trailer. Everything else on it was pretty great. Good luck!

Thanks for the insights guys! I pulled the trigger this morning and am picking it up from Mark Miller Marine on Tuesday. They gave me a good trade-in price on my Sabre so it will be for sale from them soon. I have always had Red/Gray boats and this one is no exception...
