    5 blade props/300xs

Looking for information on the 5 blade props. Has anyone run one on a 300xs/Stroker? I have ran a ton of 3 and 4 blades but never had the opportunity to try a 5 blade (not talking about the High 5). How do they compare to the performers, pro max and bravo's? They seem to be working on the 300r's.

I have a 27p PowerTech BRV5. My 250xs doesn’t have enough low end torque to spin it up on holeshot with 1.62 gears and dual pvs. Mike Lohn has the same prop with the same problem with a 250 Vmax and 1.75 gears. The 3L two strokes just don’t have the low end to run a big diameter 5 blade through hub effectively. Should be great on the new larger displacement four strokes. I will say that it’s the best rough water prop I have run once up on plane (ran it a few times on lake st clair).

Dean.. A few years back I bought, on a whim, a 30 drag 5.. I think it's a fun prop and drives pretty decent! Stability seems good at speed, acceleration is great and the hole shot is better than several of the other props I have.. I ran it as I would run the boat set up for a tournament (2 guys, troller, gear, etc) and it was fast enough to put a big ole smile on my face! Don't know if that helps you at all!

A couple years ago we ran a Hill 5 blade on Kevin’s and it ran great. A couple of us ran it 100 on the nose and I think Kevin and Chris both ran it in the 102-103 range. If I recall correctly it was a 31p but don’t hold me to that.

Once the boat settled in it drove like a dream at 100 with that prop.

Thanks for the info. Not sure what I am going to do in regards to a 5 blade.
