    Where to fish and launch in the Potomac?

    Military and stationed here (live in Fairfax area) and about to pick my boat up this week. Wanted to fish Potomac or anywhere there are bass! Looking for good places to launch and fish, thanks for any help.

    Since you live on the Virginia side, Leesylvania State park has a nice launching area. Across the river from the launch is Mattawoman Creek. I've always liked fishing in the creek. Lots of different
    areas within the creek.

    Yes, the river has plenty of depth to cross to Mattawoman. When you enter Mattawoman stay in the middle and watch for the channel markers. The tide dictates where to fish and how to navigate the river. A Gmco paper map can be a help. If you have a map I can point out some areas with a phone call better than trying to explain them online. Let me know if you want to talk.
