    Xi3 Bent Prop Shaft

    Smoked the dock pretty good in big waves right on the prop of my Xi3. Prop shaft visibly wobbles while spinning. It is not enough to cause the prop to contact the motor housing, but there is definitely a wobble in the shaft.

    Motor hasn’t been in the water since the impact. Seems like the shaft needs replaced to prevent further damage. How big a job am I looking at? Need to go to service center or possible DIY?

    Armature has to be replaced. The prop shaft is part of the armature. If uncertain what to do it is best to bring to a service center.

    Thank you for the info! I am still interested in doing this myself, unless someone can really talk me out of it. I will contact Jones tomorrow about parts and a service manual, if available.

    super easy to straighten in a lathe using a dial indicator, they bend easy so they are easy to bend back so its kind of a win win.
