The transducer plugs into the big port on the black box,
then the box feeds the head unit by the ethernet port.
I dont find anything marked gls10. LDS

The GLS10 is the LS box.....it looks like your unit is reading the LS......if its disabled, you just need to enable sonar so that it will transmit. I dont have this particular unit so i cant tell you exactly where the setting is, you will have to go into the menu and enable LS.

The 1022 manual should have information about these settings and where they are at.

"Stopping the Transmission of Sonar Signals
To disable the active sonar, from the sonar screen, select MENU > Transmit.
To disable all sonar transmissions, press Power button , and select Disable All Sonar Trans"

Now that you have it working, the best thing to do is take a day, go to lake and just play around with it till you figure out the menu's and settings and get used to it. Also there are tons of video's on YouTube that shows how to setup and what settings others are using.

Electronics are a problem for me. What I learn today, I will forget by tomorrow.
I have to use a unit alot to ever get familiar w/it. Then if there is much lapse in
use, I'm back at square one. If I was 12yrs old it wouldnt be an issue. LDS

Would you believe I have owned this boat since Sept 0f 19, and havent been fishing.
When we rigged it, I knew this unit came on, and I thought thats all i needed to
know for the time being. Last wed I went to Ky Lake just to get familiar w/LS only
    to discover it didnt work.
Crappie time in western Ky is close upon me and I'm totally unfamiliar w/my equipment.
I got to get cracking !!!! LDS

I am like you I have only used Lowrance, and the HDS units I have now
are above my level. I will never know enough to take advantage w/what
    they are capable of.
I have read by many posters how simple the LS is to operate. I hope that is true.

Although the units are easy to use, its not exactly "turn it on and go"......you will need to make adjustments to LS so, figure that out....bunch of YT videos you can watch.
