    2019 ultrex who's had this problem

    19 here with no problems, that definitely has a bonding problem of some kind it seems. You would think they will take care of it.

    Mine’s a 2018 and not that bad but it’s doing it as well. Out of warranty so I just keep trying to paint over it. Along with the paint I’ve had to replace the parts where the wires connect to the head unit twice now, when I deploy and stow the unit it squeaks and when in spot lock it sounds like a rickety wooden boat.

    Check to see if you have a bad seal and water is inside the housing

    Yup. Check the seals. Buddy of mines got water in it and it got so hot it cooked the paint off and discolored the metal.

    update; took it in to a asc and they replace the whole lower unit under warranty

    Mine's from 2019 and the only paint coming off is on the side that rubs the mount when pulled and deployed. It's always facing down so never see it so don't care.
