    New Rangers

Looking at the new Rangers and I'm hearing that they aren't as good since Johnny took over. Is there any truth to that? I really like my 521VX and it is supposedly the best hull Ranger ever made.

Zero quality difference between my "pre-Johnny Morris" 2009 Z520 and my current "Johnny Morris" 2018 Z520L.....

    Good luck

I am very happy with my 2019 Ranger. My 2012 I traded was a great boat and the 19 is a little better finished.

I love my 2020 and don't feel like craftsmanship has fallen. I do hear more frustrated people with customer service, they seem to be trying to push all parts orders through the dealers and making them incur the customer service costs. I do feel like the innovation (as much as there can be in a bassboat) has fallen off, most the new cool stuff I see on boats is coming from other brands. They have started outsourcing the trailers to a 3rd party. At the end of the day more than anything else having a great dealer matters the most.

On my 2018 Z520c, the build quality was good but the rigging and QC was a mess. It was rushed out the door so that someone could make their revenue #'s.

My fit and finish of my 2019 519 is top notch...some issues with the trailer but boat has beat expectations. I had a pre Johnny Ranger aluminum before this.

My 2020 VX1788WT is the first Ranger I've ever had (picked up in May), and it'll for sure be my last. It's my 4th boat and had by far the longest list of QC issues of any major purchase I've ever made in my life. The dealer has been really good so far, but getting parts from Ranger is extremely slow and quite aggravating.. wrong parts, parts missing fasteners, damaged parts, and I'm still waiting on a couple of parts that were ordered months ago. It'd be comical if it weren't so disappointing. I'd definitely buy from the dealer again, just a different brand.

I have not found anything wrong with my 2020. fit and finish is as good as I have ever seen on any boat.

My 2019 must have been made on a Friday when everyone was being released to beer thirty...here's a list of everything that I have pending repairs this coming November.

    Stress cracks in livewell
Leaking livewell hoses (causes auto bilge to turn on)
    Backing out screws in windscreen
Backing out screws in dash panel
Backing out screws in rub rail
    Stripped box panel screws
    Broken lean seat post
    Stress cracks in cooler
LED strip on console coming off and fading
Never provided correct cover pole after replacing boat cover (Ranger issue...been waiting damn near 2 years)
Been fishin' since I was 5 years old...Thanks Grandpa!

I have a handful of buddies that have recently bought new Rangers, mostly z520 and z521 and they seem as well built as any I've seen.

You been talking to the Vexus trolls? Next time ask them how that paint worked out and the rust bucket trailers.

My 2020 521L exceeds the quality of my 2013 520c.

Bought a 2018 521L, was very happy with the fit and finish. Traded it and now have a 2020 521L. Pleased with the fit and finish. Have a lot of guest boats in my garage beside my Ranger from time to time. Some have a few novelty features but overall quality I haven't seen any better than Ranger.

Overall quality on my 2020 is good....had some frustrating issues with crocked lids and small issue though which I did not have on my 2011.

All bunk and social media hype. I think some may think the increased use of plastic or hydroformed stuff is a workmanship thing but it's not. Still the prettiest boats out there.
