Goes on front of gear case torpedo to block the low water inlets. If you don't use something (I use tape) then running the motor on the muffs will see little water going through the motor and the tell-tale will barely sputter.... Only needed for running on muffs in driveway however.

Didn't realize there was a tool. I'm afraid of one day forgetting to take the tape off after winterizing. One reason I try to winterize at the lake.

Duct tape works just fine but don't use black. I hardly ever use a hose since I got a tank.
