Hey guys, I am wanting to upgrade to hydraulic steering on my 2001 X-19. The engine is a 2001 Yamaha 150 HP. Looking at the Seastar web site is very confusing on which helm and cylinder would be the correct ones. I wanted to get advice from the experts on which helm and cylinder to get for my set up. Any help would be appreciated.
I just bought a seastar hydraulic steering kit to put in my 2007 X19. I got the HC5345-3 cylinder, which should fit mercury and yamaha motors and the helm is HH5271-3. I got 20’ hoses just because that’s the only size the person selling it had. I know Xpress puts 18’ hoses in all of their boats from the factory. But I’m pretty sure a 15-16’ hose would be plenty. I should be doing the install later this week, I’ll let you know how it turns out.
