200 pro xs. Ser#1B934803. Water pump kit 817275A08. The gasket in the new kit that goes between the pump plate and the lower housing is made of metal. The old one was of a gasket material. The gasket in question is pt #
817276 1. Is this the proper gasket to use, the new metal one is the same shape as the old fiber one. Don’t want any problems.

The metal one is the latest improvement. Use it with no worries.

Only time you would need to concern would be if you had corrosion/pitting on the gasket surface (that might prevent proper sealing). Otherwise, the two gaskets are interchangeable.
