    prop ventilation on hole shot

running a pro craft 210 super pro with mercury 200. Top speed is around 67 mph. 25p tempest at 5800 rpm. hole shot is great, however, the first hole shot of the day, it will blow out and cavitate with all the plugs removed in my 25 tempest. It wont lose bite at all after the first hole shot. any idea whats going on? I can put a large plug in and it never does it on the first hole shot, but hole shot suffers a little after.

But why does it only blow out on the first hole shot of the day?

That is a good question. It could be your trim and tilt unit needs servicing, and not allowing motor to hold in the down place. I have similar boat '02 Viper '03 Merc 225 EFI 25" Tempest Plus worked by Croxton closer to 26. I have all large hole PVS plus no issues excellent holeshot.

i would try two large plugs in (best for mine and most) and one out is really common for best holeshot,i have tried a lot of different plugs seems best at 2 in,i get just enough spin from 3200 to 3900 then a good bite hole shot around 3.5 seconds (ranger 519vx and triton tr196 was best on both boats with 200 optimax engines)

Could be your not letting in warm up enough? And that’s the difference..?

Check and see if your live wells leak and let water in after you launch or if your getting water into the bilge area. That extra weight could affect how it takes off after it's been on the water for a while.
