    Solix protective cover

How well do these stay on? Do I need to worry about the cover on the bow unit flying off going down the highway? I never trusted the Lowrance covers and would strap them on just in case, but the Humminbird covers seem to be more secure.

I for one wouldn’t trust it to stay on
They are to flexible and the wind could get under it rather easily

With that said I did forget to pull it off the bow unit one day and made a 5 mile run down the lake and it was still on when I got there

But when you consider traffic and the wind big trucks can push as they go by and air currents coming off your vehicle I would be worried

I strap mine to the unit because I don’t trust them to stay on.

Covers for Solix stay on. I kept two bow Solix 12 on all of 2020 without issue.

They do stay on well but over 70mph anything not nailed down can blow off.

Thanks. I don’t like leaving things to chance and it’s easy enough to put some kind of strap on to secure it so that is what I will do.

Mine have stayed on all year at speeds up to 75mph. I have two 12's on the bow.

Perhaps when located at the bow there is a drafting effect from the truck and they really aren't subjected to much wind?

A strap or bungy is much cheaper than a new Solix cover

I use the big rubber coated twist ties. Walmart has them, cheap and effective. You can use two of them to get around larger items.

But if you do, you won't like the cost of them.
