Anyone using a brace on the Mega 360/Ultrex combination.

Looking for input from anyone using a brace between the shafts of the Ultrex and Mega 360 transducer.

This is my solution. All ram mount parts. 6” arm, clamp and stick on ball for the deck. Probably gonna change the stick on to bolt on. Stick on’s aren’t real durable. No more bounce going down the road or lake.

Mike, alot of talk on Facebook Hummingbird Tips forum. The 360 shaft is designed to flex, therefore it is not recommended to use a brace.

I noticed the Mega 360 shaft would really flex and oscillate whenever driving down rough roads . I put a 1" nylon web belt with a buckle clip around the trolling motor shaft and Mega 360 shaft and it acts as a dampener so it doesn't bounce around .

Are you concerned about flex when your fishing (deployed), running down the lake or transporting on the highway?

I have never used a brace on the original 360 or the mega 360 and don’t plan on buying one. I’ve seen it flex a lot which I assume it was built to do and have had no issues.

I've read multiple posts of fb that it will void the warranty if you use one. I can't say if that's true or not, but I've seen several say it.

If you’re referring to mine, I bought it in 3 separate pieces off amazon. All B size ram mount parts. 6” arm, clamp and stick on ball.

My Mega had way too much bounce in it without a brace. I tried the Transducer Shield brace but was not satisfied. The Boat Logix brace does a great job but is pricey.

The flex in the 360 shaft actually helps absorb shock. Leave it alone, it's engineered correctly.
