I'm here but the fish aren't....

Well, I've been in traverse city for two days...fished 6 lakes and only have some short largemouth to show for it....I'm dying here! I've just about given up hope on smallies, thrown everything but the wind and rain and cold seem to be pushing them down. Maybe I'm too late for the fall bite? I don't know what to do. Supposed to be up here until Tuesday. Any ideas?

Fish a blade bait and jerkbait.... Slow down... The fish are eating!

I'll keep throwing my blade baits, so far I've only caught a few 4 inch perch on them. Gonna be a wet cold day of fishing today

The main ingredient is being "On Fish" It don't matter what you throw if the fish aren't there. They should be in groups, This can make them harder to find on bigger lakes.

Yeah it's been tough locating them on the fish finder. We have fished Long, skegmog, Silver, Leelanau, , spider, green, between 2 boats with 1 keeper smallie. My nephew and I are thinking about fishing grand traverse bay since I've never fished that lake before. Btw the trees are unbelievably beautiful up here makes for very scenic fishing!

Well, it sounds like it can only get better. I'm heading up there soon, hopefully it turns around....

I get it! I was near Indian River this weekend and it was a tough bite. I was on schools of fish all over the lake but they would only bite once or twice a day. I could see them on my livescope follow my lures all over the place but they wouldn't bite much. I tied on everything in the boat for them.
