    Question Shimano Exsence DC (12/14) Questions

    So I recently acquired an Exsence DC in right hand.. but when you put the left plate on it is binding up. I think it needs the entire DC module replaced and have pics I will post in the next post from my phone showing what I will describe.

    The inside of the DC tube is worn away it looks like? the spool's center piece appears to have rubbed it down to bare coils of copper in places. Any advice? Parts suppliers I can order stuff from etc? Thanks in advance..

    Hopefully those show what I am speaking of. If you leave the left plate loose it spins far more freely, but once locked in place something is clearly amiss.

    No one? Is there even a place that refurbs reels still? The sponsor list is blank in this area unfortunately..

    One of my fishing partners sent a SLX DC reel to Shimano for repair and the sent him a brand new one.

    Those are only about a year old at max though? This one's pushing 6+ years old and was an import..

    What you see is normal on that model. Not worn out...NO PARTS so I wouldn't DIY if I were you.....Dan
