One more question about the Caracal.....

    Ok two...

Is the hydraulic jack plate needed/recommended on the Caracal? Even if I am not using any power poles...or is the manual plate more than enough?

And how is the JL Audio M50 Media Center w/2 6in Speakers & 2 Seat Speakers??

Thanks in advance...I just don't want to miss anything

My lynx has a bobs hydraulic. I fish a lot of timber and it helps. Also helps in rough water. I have the stereo also. For the money you could probably get better but it works fine for me. On my boat the stereo option also came with a small ram mount and 12 volt access to hold and charge my phone just under the console on the right. If I had it to do over I would still get both. Good luck. JD

I had a manual on my prior Caracal and a hydraulic on my 2019. The manual is fine. I wouldn’t spend the money on the hydraulic if I were buying today.

I have the manual plate on my Caracal. I had a hydraulic plate on the Cougar I had. I seldom ever had to move it. If you fish in very shallow water or have to run in it a lot, a hydraulic plate might be worth the money. For me it just isn't.

Sounds like a Caracal in the Great Lakes (Erie/St.Clair) might do just fine without a hydraulic jack plate

If you enjoy listening to music while fishing or driving down the lake I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the JL Audio system. It rocks! And you can still hear it running 70+. Not having a speaker bouncing around and having a system that is permanently mounted is a big plus.
As for a hydraulic jack plate, if you are a skinny water fisherman like me, you will use it a lot. If you stay mostly deep, I’d save your money. They are extremely helpful navigating shallow water though.

Yes. They help project the music toward the front deck so you don’t have to crank it to hear while fishing.

Almost zero sound comes out of the seat tweeters. Second Caracal, same experience with both.

i disagree. I did a little experiment on the water with mine. Faded out the big speakers while fishing on the front deck to test sound projection from the seats vs from big speakers alone vs all at once. They definitely project high tones better to the front deck than the big speakers alone. All 4 pumping together is still the best for complete sound range.
