Thanks Wayne. Ordered new 12 Helix DI G4N and will pickup a MEGA 360. Just want to make sure I have everything I need before I start installing.

You do not need to exchange the transom transducer (XM) for the trolling motor transducer (XTM), just get the trolling motor adapter since the transducers are the same.

    One more question Wayne.

With the three Helix’s I will now have, at the bow, the 12” DI+ G4N with MEGA DI+ transducer and M360 connected and a 10” DI G2N (maybe MK US2). On the console I have a 12” Mega SI G2N currently networked to the 10” the G2N DI on the bow.

I would like to just have the two 12” Helix’s networked (bow and console) to eliminate buying a $250 switch. If I have the 10” on the bow connected to the MK US2, which I would use for mapping and 2D only, if I turn off sonar 2D in the 12” G4N DI+ on the bow with the M360 and MEGA DI+ transducers will that still keep DI and MEGA DI+ pinging? I need the two 12” control heads sharing waypoints.

Hopefully this makes sense for you to understand. But, I don’t want to buy a switch but need 2D sonar on the 10”. The other option would be all three networked with the 10” using the 2D from the bow 12” G4N DI+/2D transducer which would cost $250 plus for switch and then add cables at another $100 or so.

No, the Connected Transducer choices are:
    MEGA 360
    HW/MEGA 360
    HW/MDI+/MEGA 360
    Built-in HW/MDI+/MEGA 360
    Built-in HW/MSI+/MEGA 360

To have what you want without the Switch, leave the G2N and its transducer on the trolling motor and only connect the MEGA 360 to the G4N.

Have a similar question Wayne hope you can help me out. I have 2- Helix 12 MSI G3N up on bow and I am going to designate one of the 12’s for M360 and M Live. What Y cable will I need to hook both to the 12? Will the 720102-1 handle this? Thanks

What transducer are you using for 2D/DI/SI/Temp?

Good question as it’s built in on the Ultrex that came from the factory this way on 2020 FXR20. I am going to use one Helix 12 for that and the 2nd 12 for only the M360 and M Live. I will not be tying the 12 hooked up to M360 and M Live to the network.

The 720102-1 is for splitting off 2D sonar from a SI or DI transducer, typically for installing a console unit with a shoot-thru 2D transducer and a SI or DI transducer.

You need no Y cable to connect the MEGA 360 directly to a display. The MEGA 360 comes with two 10' cables. One connects the MEGA 360 to the transducer port of a SOLIX and the other connects the MEGA 360 to the transducer port of a Helix.

The MEGA LIVE is an Ethernet accessory, so you either connect that directly to a Helix using the AS EC QDE Ethernet Adapter or you connect it to an Ethernet Switch so it is shared. There is no information about how the MEGA LIVE is managed with other transducers broadcasting on the same frequency, so I won't speculate about that.

BUT------ if you have one unit using the Minnkota MSI transducer at the MEGA frequency and another unit using the MEGA 360, they will cross-talk and screw up both units.

Soooo to prevent that cross-talk, both the Minnkota MSI transducer and MEGA 360 can be connected to the same unit with a Y cable. When that is done, the piezos are pinged in a sequence and they cannot cross-talk.
That Y cable would be the 14-M360 2DDI Y and then convert the 14-pin unit plug to 7-pin for the Helix with the Minnkota MKR-MI-1 or the included 10' 14-pin to 7-pin converter cable--those would give you a choice of managing 20' of cable or 13' of cable.
You already have the MKR-MI-1 to connect the Minnkota MSI transducer to a Helix.

Then connect the MEGA LIVE to the other unit with the AS EC QDE adapter. Cross-talk????????????????
