    Question which unit to buy???

i am ready to pull trigger on some LiveScope/Panoptix...
this unit will be up front and STRICTLY on Livescope, as i run Lowrance Live series front and back for mapping and Sonar...
    i'm looking a 9 or 10" model...
would like to come out as $$ efficient (cheap) as possible...

im on the website and blown away by all the choices...

    what unit do you suggest?

i was told not to cut corners on the resolution, but i cant seem to find much info on that matter...

    Thank you in advance...

    I'll say this 10" model.

Well if you want better resolution, you will have to pay more.....

You can always look at our 9 inch and see it in action. It's good. Obviously the larger you go, the better the resolution, but more money. Lol. My dream unit is a 12. For 2500 Paid 5 00 for my 9 on sale. That's a thing of the past. ( prices without livescope transducer)

So which 10" version would you recommend for a little better resolution? Like the OP, I'm seriously considering this (and would keep my Helix for sonar and GPS, so strictly used for Livescope), but want something clear that I can easily see with my bad eyes. LOL

Savage? Minnesota? Got a Scheels near by? They have a 1242/gls10 livescope bundle for 3299, that's at least 700 off.

Of the 3 10" units, here is the resolution and prices:

    GPSMap 8410 - 1920x1200 ($2400) (no sonar)
    GPSMap 1022 - 1024x600 ($1200) (no sonar)
    Ultra 102 - 1280x800 ($1600)

All info came from Garmin website.

Sam - yes, Savage, MN. They just opened a new Scheels in the metro. Haven't been there yet, but may have to go check it out.

Jeremy - thanks! Not being familiar with Garmin for many, many years, I was like the OP and not sure what I'm looking for and what is compatible!

So I have a 922, the difference between a 942 and 922 is what maps are in it. I'm sure it's the same with the 1242 having freshwater maps where the 22 is costal. The costal cost less and that's why I have it.

I really don't need the mapping feature, as I will keep my HB Helix up front that is linked to the Helix on the helm. That being said, is the 1242 still a good choice? Or, is there a 10" model with high resolution available without the mapping feature?

They all have mapping features, its either the full map setup or a world wide base map.
