What is a good battery ? Will agm be ok or stick to regular battery ? Having intermittent starting issues.

If a wet cell is acceptable the NAPA battery part #7234 or 7235 is a beast and doesn't break the bank. Get the number according to what posts you need/want if you decide on that one. You won't be disappointed!

Those NAPA batteries are all I run now. Get the biggest baddest battery that will fit in your tray......in this case more is better. The Ficht,DFI,ETECs are juice monsters.....they do NOT like low batterys....

Agreed, as whilst the OEM info only calls for a 'minimum 675 CCA battery', you need as close to 1,000 or greater CCAs~! I too learned this here the hard way ...

I learned the hard way when I tried to run an AGM battery which was combo starter/ deep cycle. The combo took 14 months to ruin my ignition system. Now my mechanic tells me to run starter batteries only with CCA as close to 1000 as I can find. During 2019, I had to replace the EMM, Stator, and rectifier? well, whatever the full ignition system is on the motor. Wasn't cheap.

Motor has been running like a champ ever since the replacement. Also, I started running E-Free gasoline only at my mechanics request because the VRO went bad for the 2nd time. First time was 2008 when under warranty. My motor is a 2001 - 200HP Johnson OP.

I always found a 1000CCA for my Fucht.

I have the duracell commercial group 31, Batteries plus or Sam's club. 3 season run helix 9 and 10 no thought of replacing it.
