If you have the space. A good older Haas should fit the bill just fine. They are usually easy to find and a decently cheap investment. Just make sure they haven't been beaten on too badly. How much are you looking to spend and how much space?

Just another do it yourself hobby. Now wanting to go at it for a business. Just something to do aluminum & composite or plastic milling for lure molds.

Gonna be tough to find any that would be priced for just hobby type of work. I have to believe your looking at best 7 to 8 grand. I could be wrong though.

Will none of the cheap machines do this kind of work? Not worrying about any kind of production. Thanks

Do you know how to make the CAD files to make the machine work? CNC will pretty well fill most of your wife's side of the garage. Better check with her first before you blow 10k

Shapeoko and xcarve will do them. Plenty of guys on youtube doing aluminum. No it will not be as quick as the expensive machines but it can be done. I'm about to buy a Shapeoko myself. Lot of crankbait guys using them for bodies and lips as well.

Believe I would have to have some molds made for that kind of money. Good luck.

How big of a work envelope are you looking at? CNC hobby router would be a cheaper option for sure, but limiting factor in those is really the Z travel. Open build parts store has some kits, could get something closer to 2-4K there
