    Livewell Drain gets clogged

    1998 TR20

After a tourny, you pull the plug in the bottom of the livewell, the water goes out for awhile, but then it stops, the drain hose gets clogged w/ crayfish/fish parts.

For years ive tried to find something to snake down the drain hole to clear it, I eventually lay on the ground with a garden hose and force water from the bottom up, eventually clearing the drain hose and the livewell is ready for the next tourny.

We'll I finally found something I can snake down the hole, A 24 inch Tie Wrap works, I'm able to stick it down the hole and it will bend all the way out the exit, clearing the hose.

I just keep the tie wrap in the livewell.

I bought mine at harbor freight ($1.76 a pack of 6) , I seen them at Walmart too.

Yeah I usually have to blast mine out with a hose as well but I do it from the top.

I use the hose method also. From top and bottom to clear it out. It is a pain. I’ll try the zip tie trick.

same issues man with my 18XS. The amount of crawdad chunks after a tourney can really clog them up. I have too use a hose on both ends to free it up.

Get a screen that pushes into the drain hole for after you pull the plug.

No issues here. I pumpout livewells & hit the recesses with wet/dry shop vac when I get home.
