Have my new boat on order it is comming with a 200 pro xs. Would it be a good idea to run ethanol-free fuel in it or should I just run regular 87 octane? Thanks!

I've had my Mercury 200 Pro XS for a couple of seasons and it works much better with 87 octane. I run Super ethanol-free the last couple of weeks of the season, before putting the boat away, and notice the difference.
Man if you're in an area where it's available absolutely. No need for anything but 87.

Agree, but I can’t find anything other than 91 non ethanol in Katy, TX area.
Read Dons post on fuels, non ethanol is like #3 or 4 or his importance

From the 4-stroke FAQ Fuel topic at top of forum (same as for 2-strokes):
Fuel Selection:
Make your fuel selections based on the following criteria, IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:
-High Traffic, Top-Tier (Name Brand) Fuel
-Appropriate Octane Rating (see above info)
-Lowest possible ethanol content (NEVER to exceed 10%).
-While it may be preferable to utilize a fuel that contains lower (or no) ethanol, use of fuels that are SUBSTANTIALLY higher octane can result in decreased performance, decreased fuel economy, and potential for carbon buildup. Higher octane fuels burn SLOWER and COOLER.
