The carpet is coming off where it adheres to the lip on the underside of the rod locker lid. What kind of adhesive do you recommend? I have some general outdoor carpet adhesive here from a project this spring. Will that work OK?

Hey Murphy, I just completed a year long restoration project on a Ranger 519svs. I used Weldwood All Weather Outdoor Carpet Adhesive for the large flat horizontal surfaces and Weldwood Contact Cement in the Gel Formula. My recommendation would to first clean the list d and as much of the carpet as you can with acetone make sure it's dry and use the adhesive you have. It should glue back down just fine. If you have the room clamp the carpet in place for a few hours or so.
I used the Weldwood as well. I recarpeted the entire 1996 Cherokee boat listed below. Be aware that this is contact cement and have it where you want it when you place it. It was also readily available at big box hardware stores. I think I got mine at Home Depot. I don't know about today, but a lot of manufacturers used to use it for carpet.

Thanks guys. Great idea on using the clamps Bob.
That Weldwood contact cement will keep things stuck. I used it on the lids/hatches when I refurbished my tin rig.

Did a complete restore of an Xpress H51 a few years ago, and used Henrys 663. GREAT stuff!
