    Carbed, EFI, or Opti?

I am looking at a boat with a 2005 115 mercury and I don't know what version it is and neither does the seller.
    Model# 1115412DD
    Serial# 1B185867

What version of Mercury is this? Anything I should look for before making the purchase?

I am not 100% sure but I would bet that it is a 115 ELPTO. A carb’d inline 4 cylinder motor. A good motor but ancient technology. Do a little research on a “2+2” motor.

I picked it up yesterday. It ran good on my test drive. It is on a 1852 semi-v Weld-Craft and it has a jet pump lower on it. Right now it runs at 5200rpm at WOT and I think that is the recommended max RPM.

Should I be running Don's concoction on this carb'ed motor or is that mainly for the EFI and Opti's? If not I will still run a fuel stabilizer in it.

You want to run the Quickleen and Quickcare but no need for the Premium Plus in the fuel. That is to keep the injectors lubed and you do not have those. Also, 5250 is the maximum RPM so you are perfect.
