    16 y.o. prop

Have the original Trophy Plus on my Basscat, on a 3L 200 EFI. It's never been worked on and is the only prop on the rig. There are no big hits to it or scars, just the usual.

My question is, can the prop become less efficient over time, by flexing over this time period? Is it worth having it trued-up or whatever the correct terminology is?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Normally, the cup wears out a little and loses bow lift. You might benefit from a good cleanup from Mr. Croxton

Yes and yes. Maybe not so much from flexing just wear and tear. It would be difficult to run a prop for 16 years without touching bottom somewhere and even small wear will compound over time.

I think it would be money well spent to have Mark Croxton to bring it back to specs. That is what I plan to do with my prop much sooner than 16 years.
