    Champion 202 elite

Hey guys. Looking at a champion boat. I’ve never had one before. Have a couple questions. Guy says it’s a 96’ 202 elite. Does that look right? Most pictures of them I see don’t have the side rails. And do u think boat has been painted or something because it doesn’t say champion on the side near the rear. Do they all ? Have not seen this boat in person yet but wanna make sure first. Thanks for any input

I think previous owner removed the champion decals.

you can ask for the champion boat ID# which is usually on a metal tag on the transom and get that researched on when it was built and such

I see the hand rails in front of the consoles, but can't really make out any cushions. Chase, does it have cushions on the rod locker lids or are they the same level as the front fishig deck?

Kind of looks like a 204 with the upright windshields.

Tx champ There aren’t any cushions on front deck.
Championman I noticed windshields look more upright than most I’ve seen pictures of

    Wouldn't be a 204 in 96, think 94 & 95 was it for that hull.

That's a very desirable model to have Chase. You'll enjoy it for many years. Sure looks clean!

He didn't post a HIN so I was only looking at the windshields, I've had a few 202's at the old shop and they all had sloping shields. But I've been wrong before, why change now?

Some 202's have the taller looking sloped windshields and others have the low pro kind. Based on the ski pole in the back they added the rails so people could ride on the front deck and have something to hold on to. Does not look like a true Fish N Ski and the front deck sat lower in those & had cushions

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I’m going to look Sunday and hopefully pick it up. I had a 96 cobra that the transom rotted in so my plan is to put my motor on this boat. I’ll let you know when I pick it up. I just hope it’s as clean as the pictures

It also does have a very low mounted ladder on the transom port side. Maybe possibly a converted fish n ski?

I have a 1998 202 and switched windshields with my friends 223. My windshields now are taller and block the wind way better. The holes matched up perfectly. How much does he want and where is it?

Well I bought the boat today. Taking it to the shop wednesday to have motor put on. Transom and all looked good as far as I could tell. Not as easy to check with no motor. Hopefully she will be running in a week or two.
