I just picked up a 2016 175 TXW today. I have a 12” Helix I want to mount to the bow. I’m not sure if I want to put a Ram mount or a metal bracket like Panther Electronic makes. What have y’all used?

I wouldn't use a ram, I'd go with a Balls Out if considering a Ram

If it will anchor a Balzout it should work with a Ram. How about the angled bow panel, anyone use that to mount to? Wondering if it’s stout enough.
I put a Carbon 7 up there on a bracket I fabricated. Had I not had a welder, and the scraps lying around, I would have gone with a BalZout.

I use a Ram mount. I like it because it’s a little higher off the deck and can articulate depending on the conditions.

I've used the angled bow panel with no issues but the biggest I've had screwed into it was a 7" on the bracket they come with. It would work for a 12" but I'd have bolts with nuts and washers on the other side to make sure it doesn't go anywhere instead of just running screws into it and calling it a day.Originally Posted by reelblues

Here is the two options I would suggest.

I ended up with the tall Precision mount and it turned out very well. Easy install and I have plenty of room. I was a bit worried the 12” unit would be a little large for the area but it all turned out great.
