I posted a few years back about my little sister Dana who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon/lung cancer out of the blue at 37 years old. It caught her and us by surprise. Initially the Dr's gave her 12-18 months but she as always decided to show them. She made it 40 months. I would sit with her chemo after chemo treatment and not once did she ever complain. She made the best out of the situation. She fought so hard and up until 3 weeks ago you would not have known she even had cancer unless she told you. She started having leg pain really bad and was admitted to the hospital. She was discharged home and placed on hospice as the cancer had spread all throughout her body. She passed this morning with her family by her side. She was holding my Mom's hand as well as her daughter's hand. She had been unresponsive since early yesterday morning but this morning she opened her eyes, smiled at everyone and closed her eyes for the last time.
That 40 months flew by way too fast. She is in a better place now and we are thankful for the time we had with her. Now she is no longer in pain.
