www. Mohawkvalleyanglers.weebly.com, check these guys out, good bunch. This is a partners team trail type of club...always the best way to maintain and attract new members with club longevity if structured well. Glad to see the interest in the tournament.

I do not understand....leave your wallet at home , carry your cash in pocket then. Just giving you the info you had asked for. Good luck. I've donated plenty no worries.

Haven't taken a ride to any of the launches, but called one mid-week and lock worker said water level is already dropping for lock repairs. This "usually" means level gets so low none of the launches are accessible......if true, then river probably done for the year. Anyone confirm ?

    water just a little low

This pic is from the Kiwanis launch at 3PM today....10/26. Could be tricky launching in the Mohawk, guess it's done for this year.....same old reason every season - lock repairs.

Just in the past few years has it been dropped this early, at least here locally.....in the past, it was usually around the 16th of November up until a few years back. And going back a even farther, the old Snowball Tx were usually held the beginning of November ( myself & partner won 3 ). Until a few years ago I would fish it much later than now, water would be in the low 40's, and the fish were feeding and fat. Oh well......."there's always next year".

This time frame also coincides with nys not charging to use the lock system any longer.,mmmm I wonder. No recreational income, let's shut it down sooner. This state sucks. Water still normal west of 16 as of yesterday.

water level is fine out here near herkimer too. Drive over the canal every day to get to the thruway and it actually looks normal to slightly above normal pool out this way

I'm thinking that our beloved dictator will do away with the no fees next year.....be nice if that water level holds out west for a couple weeks more with the cold weather coming in....might have to pay some tway tolls and head west.

They close earlier now because of low staffing. They cannot get fall stuff done with the numbers they have. We are pretty lucky to get the service we do in the canal system. It's a money losing deal every year. Guys are driving 100+ miles a day just to work. The money they make from lock passes is laughable. Throw in 2 monster floods and it's a wonder they still operate. Canajoharie has $10m in the bank for a massive marina at the beechnut site. I'll be dead before I see it.
