I Finally Found a Downside to the Polyurea Flooring

I fish barefoot 95+% of the time. Yesterday it was 40 degrees when I dropped the boat in at 0700. After about an hour of fishing the floor was so cold I had to put flip flops on to insulate my feet until the sun got up and warmed the floor

Agree, just another location for skin cancer.

    I generally despise wearing shoes.

I wear steel toed boots 50-70 hours a week at work. The first thing I do when I get in the truck to go home is take them off.

When I go on vacation I do my best to not wear shoes, flip flops at most

As far as the skin cancer thing I’d have to agree that feet are another potential receptor. But, based on my family history of cancer, skin cancer is way down on my list of concerns.

why would you be barefoot and it 40 degrees to begin with? I am warm natured, but when the pigs are cold, I cover them. I am guilty of fishing barefoot also, I am originally from the coastal waters, and barefoot is just the way of the salty water folks. I always said their too lazy to put shoes on....lol
I have the SeaDek in my 2080. feels great on the bare feet, above 55deg anyway.

I never said anything about me being bright. I think I may have a circulation problem as my feet do not get as cold as they once did and I work outside in all kinds of nasty weather.

    Two questions.
    1. What do you catch in your socks?
    2. How do you rig your baits so you don't get snagged?

I'll shovel snow and pull out the buddy heater before these feet get imprisoned... Same situation, being a Tradesman stuck in the weather 50+ hours/week, trains one to hate shoes.

    I used to fish barefoot.

Hooked a fish once that started flopping around on the bottom of the boat and one of hooks snagged me in the pinky toe. That was a painfull experience. Started wearing sneakers after that.

Saw a video of a guy with a 4 foot baracuda in the boat with a giant hook in the fish and his bare foot. The captain was telling " I told you to wear shoes". This guy was going off like he stepped into a bear trap.

When it’s 40 degrees I usually have on multiple layers of clothing. Hate anything below about 55 degrees.
