    Morningstar X Ray

I am consolidating three accounts for estate planning purposes so I took all of the holdings and put them into a Morningstar X Ray. I have individual stocks in there and ETF's and mutual funds. It was crazy to see that a few of my top holdings are stocks that I do not own individually. It is funny to see what you actually own derivatively in some of these funds when they often have duplicate holdings.

Every time I think about buying AMZN or AAPL I remember I already own them in the wife's retirement account. AMZN and AAPL are the top holdings of the large cap growth funds that we have. No point in buying more in a different account.

I bet 90% or more have no idea whats in their funds that they hold in their retirement accounts.
