Starting Battery for 1996 200 efi

Is there an issue with getting a battery that has a larger MCA and CCA than recommended? I think the recommended one is a group 24 with an mca and cca is 630 and 490 respectively. I need to replace the battery and I have a fairly new group 27 with an mca of 1050 and 840 cca. Would that be ok or too much?

Higher is not a problem, it’s a minimum spec. I run a 850/1050 on mine. If your motor is a stator (non alternator) motor use only wet cell starting batteries according to Mercury, no AGM or sealed batteries.

The NAPA battery part #7234 or 7235, according to which posts you use is a beast of a battery and doesn't break the bank. You won't be disappointed.
