I would think that they would be very similar to the Champions of the same era. They were SL36-20. I got replacements for my 93 Champ here https://www.backtoboating.com/collec...36-gas-springs

Did you ever find out which ones they are, and a good source for them? If so, please share the details.

They should be stamped on the side, but bet they will be SLxx-zz, where xx is the model (extended & compressed length) and zz is the strength (pounds). Some buy at auto parts stores, but you're probably not going to find the exact extended & compressed length and that might not be important to you. As I posted above, I got the one for my Champion 201 from Back to Boating. They are made for boating by Attwood. https://www.backtoboating.com/collec...36-gas-springs

Thank your the prompt reply. Maybe I'm dense, but why wouldn't the compressed/extended lengths matter? If the extend too much/little or compress to be too long, wouldn't that be a problem?

If the extended length is too short, your compartments won't open all the way, if the compressed length is too long they won't shut. If the pressure is too great, they may bounce open going across the lake, if it's not enough, it won't hold the lids open with a little breeze.

Exactly. That's why I asked why I would NOT care, when you mentioned in your previous post that I might not care. Maybe you mis-read what posted, because like you, of course I care!

Mine have been on my boat for 22 years since I bought the boat new, and still work but are weak. As long as I open the lockers all the way, they hold, but easily shut in a light breeze or less, as you stated. I will look on the side for the exact model number. Thanks again.
