Wet foam in one small area when installing pan for foot pedal on Ranger?

I cut the floor in my 374V today to install a pan for the trolling motor pedal and as I was digging out the foam I found one spot that was wet but nothing else around it is wet , no screw holes or hatch or seat pedestal to get it wet I’m stumped. Gonna let it air dry for a couple days then drop the pan in !?

If nothing else is wet and you cannot figure out why that one little area was wet, only thing to do is cut the hole, seal the edges and maybe in a few months take the tray out and see if there’s any more water ...?

sounds like a plan will be sealing the edges today and then will drop the pan in tomorrow and check it later down the line for anymore signs of moisture, thanks for the suggestion it wasn't a big spot just curious of how it got wet...lol when nothing else around it is wet

I ran across this once and the water was leaking from the bow eye. It was such a slow leak that it was hard to find. The inside of the hull area where the bow eye penetrated didn't leak enough for the water to pool, I put toilet paper in the suspected area and it revealed the slow leak.

wouldn't that leave a wet patch up near the bow eye and then down to where I discovered the water which was a good 18" away and down about 4 inches into the foam ? I'll do a little more investigation while waiting for the sealer to dry on the wood cut and see. thanks

Any holes in deck from electronics mount? Had a boat that had the same issue and found a screw hole from prior electronics mount.
