    Talon length question (Florida)

Hey guys, I recently purchased a 2005 Triton Tr20x and do not have any experience with what length Talons I should be looking at. I live in Florida and I have not had the boat in the water yet. I am looking to fish Lake Okeechobee, Lake Ida and Everglades. Just looking to see what the "norm" would be on sizing for those Lakes. Don't want to get oversized and not need but then again don't want to get shorter than needed. Storing height is not a problem as I have plenty of space on my overhead doors for storage. Or would anyone recommend the Power Poles or new Raptors instead?? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

i have 12 footers on mine and i love em. i have a couple spots that are 10-10.5' deep and poles or raptors wont even touch there. i like having the extra depth, and with tilt brackets i can go anywhere my motor fits. the work lights come in handy too.

Keep in mind your in Florida max length most of my florida gcustomers go with on Power Poles are 8 foot not much need for anything deeper as most of your lakes are super shallow. 10 or 12 foot is overkill IMO.

8 ft works pretty much every where from Loxahatchee to sawgrass to okeechobee. Now if you want to anchor in the middle of the canals no Talon or powerpole is gonna help you. I have one 8 ft talon and its helped me catch fish on them windy days on the flats. The smaller profile of the 8 ftr's are great when going under them bridges on the ida/Osborne chain, or down here in the snapper creek canal.
