    Fender Damage

Got the back right corner of my boat trailer hit the other day by someone while they were trying to park at a ramp way up in Northern Wisconsin. They tore the clearance light off and there is some spider cracks and chunks missing out of the gel. They were nice enough to leave a note at least, last night I was able to call them and got the ball rolling on a repair/replace. What is everyone's thoughts on how this needs to get fixed? Is this damage something that a fiberglass shop could fix? I am not very familiar with glass work. Or am I looking at a new fender? If I need a new fender, what are the chances that both my fenders will match in color/shade with one being brand new and the other having 5 years of use on it? I know the damage is not that sufficient, but I am very particular about my stuff and try to keep everything in great condition and good working order.

I’d call Bass Cat and see what a replacement fender costs. A lot of times a new one is cheaper than having a damaged one repaired. They can also tell you about matching. Bass Cat is a great company and won’t steer you wrong.
There’s no use being stupid if you’re not willing to show it off.

This. A proper repair will likely be as much, if not more, than a replacement. If you are handy, you can get the fender from BCB and install the new one yourself. All you need is your hull ID number so BCB can colour match your new fender.

Thank you- I looked online at the cost is listed as $799 for the tandem trailer fender. I think I would be fine to install it myself.

Glassing it in is no problem, matching the poly flake can be. $800 for a new one? Yea, that would be my choice

Kyle, if do you order the fender from BCB, ask them to include a tube of Euroflex adhesive. That is the one that the factory uses for fender installation.

Buy a new one .... I would advise my customer to do that verses fix it due to cost.

don't worry about slight color mismatch...you only see one fender at a time....except when boat off the trailer & then you're fishing

BassCat offers new fenders in any color, that's the way I would go
