    Illinois River Smallies today!

Headed to the river to throw top waters early and late.
My favorite way to catch em.
Hope you all have a good day too!

Good day on the river with a good friend. Beautiful weather. Caught 15+ but nothing big. Several on top water but mostly tubes. Only a few other kayaks seen today. Lost two rods-but got both of them back. One with a fish on it after I dove down and grabbed it. Same fish that was on it when it shot out of the kayak as I tried to paddle with the rod laying on the floor. Water temperature definitely down but felt warm compared to the 47 degree start early this morning. Then peeled off clothes by the afternoon 87 Degrees. Wow! I love these days. No leaves on the water yet, but not for long I think.

That's too cold for my blood to be diving in.
