    Loose seat

Hi, need some help. My front butt seat suddenly became very wobbly. Its not the post itself. Has anyone ever dealt with this? It appears to have a black plastic sleeve running thru. My last boat was a solid brass threaded piece. I dont see any way to access it from underneath.
    Thanks,

Sounds like the seat post bushing is worn. You can get a "Kit" that includes the new bushing, glue and wooden dowel to install it with. Not "Rocket Science" !!

Springfield won't sell the Spring-lock tapered plastic bushing #4721026 alone - just the Springfield Marine 2100038 Spring-Lock kit. What's your pedestal?

Brushing tend to wear, one of the biggest factors is leaving the pedestal in while driving down the road.

Thanks to all who have chimed in to offer advice. After some trying times we found the root cause. The weld on seat base failed causing all this.

Same thing happened to mine. When I replaced it, I looked for one that had supporting angle braces underneath in addition to the weld.

The cone-shaped area should function same as angle braces. That's just a crappy weld - there's no weld penetration into the vertical post. Looked purdy but worthless.
