    360 Mega wiring question

We are putting a 360 Mega transducer on my buddy’s boat and I have no idea what to do with the chassis ground wire. I’ve installed numerous fishfinders over the years and I’ve never seen a chassis ground wire before. He called HB and the lady told him to just twist the standard ground wire and the chassis wire together and attach them to the fuse panel. I never attach anything to the fuse panel. I go direct to the battery. However, the chassis ground wire has me confused. It seems to me that if they are supposed to be just twisted together there would be no need for a separate wire to begin with. And I don’t know where to find a chassis ground on a fiberglass bass boat. Any guidance would me much appreciated.

You attach the drain wire to the neutral wire ANY PLACE you can/want to.

    Battery negative
    Terminal strip
    Fuse block
Splice connection to extend the length of the power cord

Attaching the drain wire to anything has never been needed until the MEGA 360--same power cord type used with the 360. Some were getting corrosion on the wet switch probes and screws on the MEGA 360 pod. Tying them together is the remedy for that.

Ground is negative in a 12V system. Hook it up a black/negative/ground of your choosing.
