Got to see a Caymus in person today

Gotta day, it looked awesome. Got and finish were absolutely top notch-as good as anything I’ve ever seen in any brand bass boat. The interior storage is also finished really nicely. I need to check out one of the 18 footers (this one was a 21 footer) in person at some point. I was seriously blown away.

    anyone know how the 18 footers ride/fish? Speeds with a 150 and a 175?

I’d like to hear from people who already own or have driven a caymus 18 footer. My Triton has a slightly deeper hull than many bass boats, which I think really helps me handle bigger water than it should for an 18 footer. I’m curious how the caymus drives in the rough stuff, and how it does with the 150.

im also curious how the fit/finish is on the 18 footers, because it was off the charts excellent for the bigger 21 footer I saw today.

Ill keep an eye on my local dealer to see if I can check out an 18 footer once they get one in. I really do think Caymus would do themselves a favor if they had someone review the boat-YouTube or a simple written article online. I can’t find much online.

I have the 18' GTS. This boat is amazing. It is a very LARGE 18'. It doesn't feel like an 18' boat. When you stand on the Triton or Nitro 18 footers, you feel cramped. 2 people can fish from the bow with now issues. Storage is plenty (18+ rods in the rod locker). This boats finish is the same as the 21's with the exception it's an 18'. It's actually almost 19'. It's perfect for folks who have to park them in garages. The GTS has upgrades already on it that can be purchased separately (driver side "glove box", net and net storage, adjustable seats, independent live wells, measuring board, tilt steering, compartment lights, upgraded winch...a few others). The boat rides smoother than my car or truck. With a full tank of gas and live wells empty, you can be on plane before you reach the trim lever (Mercury 175). I did add the stainless steel Caymas foot rest on passenger and driver side as well as the stainless tool covers on passenger and driver side. I'm pushing 60 mph full tank, live wells empty on factory motor settings.

I have the Minn Kota Ultrex 80 TM and it moves the boat with no issues. It can throw you off your feet if you have it set to 10 and hit the throttle. It holds the boat on point with GPS lock even on rough, windy days. My boat came with (2) bike seats as well as fold down seat (the fold down seat is like a mini recliner). Hope this helps.

Thx Srgthagens. Any chance you know the length of your rig with the trailer tongue open, motor down and turned to one side? Caymus doesn’t have these specs listed on their website. You have the exact boat I’m interested in. I’m super garage constrained and just need to know how much longer that rig is than my Triton 18x2. I’ve also got a 175 but it’s the older two-stroke proxs. The new proxs 175 4s is a little bigger motor.

bman- it measures 21' 6" with the motor turned and the hitch folded. My garage is 19' deep. Still plenty of room on either side though.

Sgrhagins-THANK YOU!!! Been looking for a measurement like this for a while. Really appreciate you doing that for me.

Do you think you still have room to put a car in the garage with the boat?

Also, do you have a jack plate? If so, what size?

Definitely no room for a car. Motorcycle- probably. I do have a jack plate, but it's manual.

thanks. Helpful to know. I’m assuming it’s a 6” jack plate so if I went without one, I could knock 6” off your measurements. Very helpful-thx again!

Yes sir, 6" would come off the back if you didn't mount one.
