    Mariner 75hp 1984 vs 1989

    I know these motors are old, but I have an 1989 75hp Mariner. Serial # C204183, model # 70754129D.

I found a 75hp 1984 in good condition I was thinking about picking up for parts. As I look more into the parts diagram, many things don't seem compatible.

Is the lower unit compatible? Oil tank? Carbs? Good idea or not?

Thank you, that's what I thought. Somebody is selling a motor on Facebook, they say it's an 84, but it looks like a late 80s which I'm looking for, but he's swears it's an 84.
