    Sad day.

Our good sweet Wrigley pup wasn't feeling good today. Had a mass on her liver, spots on her lungs, and the vet told me it was a time bomb a few weeks ago. Came back from fishing today, and she wasn't feeling well. Let her out, and she started acting mostly normal again. I headed out to play some golf, called the wife at the turn and all was well. Five minutes later she called and said it wasn't well anymore. I made it home in like 9 minutes, not sure how because it is a 15 minute drive.

Our other dog is just a mean old grump, but Wrigley never met someone she wasn't friends with. Just the sweetest, happiest dog I've ever known. Every morning was a new day full of excitement and happiness to her. She probably has kept me and my wife sane thru the loss of her dad and my mom. Wrigley was always the joy and happiness when you walked into the door, no matter how long you had been gone.

Long story short, had to have her euthanized tonight. At least we got to sit with her for about a hour before going to the vet. Right now when we are both incredibly sad, she normally would have been the one thing that would of made us feel better. Sure am going to miss her.

My wife is a critical care veterinarian and 95% of what she sees are in bad shape. She has to deal with this on a daily basis for many years and says that you never get used to it.

I feel for you as we have lost several over the years. They are definitely a part of the family and never fail to give their heart to their owners.

May God bless you and help you adjust as you go through the grief of the loss.

I know you pain. We lost our little guy Carson in March. He was fifteen years old and went everywhere with my wife and me. He loved to run down to the boathouse and jump in the bass boat. That was his way of saying it’s time to go fish.
He will be missed. We just bought a new puppy today and he will be ready to come home in November. I hope that he will like to go fishing also.
