    ALLISON PARTS!

I needed some gas compartment shocks or whatever you call them that hold your compartment lids open. Found them on ebay and amazon and was gonna buy them but decided to get them from allison. Called allison and ordered the 5 i need. Didn't ask them the cost but later today when i checked my account i saw where Allison had taken waaay to much out of my account. I called them back and they said each shock cost 38 bucks, WTHeck! They cost 8-12 bucks on ebay and amazon. He says they were specially made for allison boats. Oh well I'm sure i still may have bought them know what they cost but DANG.

I made the mistake of ordering some generics off of an internet site. Ordered 5 @ $15 ea. Haven't seen them or heard from the company. Argh.

Update: two weeks after order, I received my lid lifts. they work great and fit perfectly.

Had a bud order some off ebay and said they worked fine. I'm pretty ok with ordering from Allison at the price they asked but the mark up is a bit HIGH.

i was told when i ordered for my 03 years back that they took some of the pressure out of them so they wouldn't rip the lids off the hinges when they opened. I had my 03 for 17 years and only had to replace them once. that i can remember anyway

I needed one for my livewell lid. Went to Amazon got it it works fine. There is a number on them so you can get the right one. Do a google search with that number.

I don’t like to over pay for things myself, However.... unlike many boat builders that were unable to survive the 80’s and 90’s it’s nice to be able to call a familiar voice on the phone to order parts for a 30 yr. old boat. Same guy that answered the phone 20 yrs. ago. I was at the factory in 2008 when the economy was in the crapper and To help retain their longtime employees and craftsman they had them doing building maintenance, painting ,etc. In order to keep them employed. I don’t mind paying a little extra for that.

I just pick some up from Amazon. They had different weights for the amount of pressure the arm exerted. I choose the 22-25lbs. I ordered 2 different sizes. I recalled for my Xb2003 15" and 11"? bought 6 for $50 shipped.
